Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By installing or using the MeeLang Chrome extension and its associated software (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not install or use the Service.

2. Description of Service

MeeLang is a browser extension that provides real-time AI-powered translation subtitles for online meetings. The Service consists of:

• A Chrome browser extension that captures meeting captions and displays translated subtitles.
• A cloud-based translation backend that processes and translates caption text in real time.

The Service is currently in beta. Features, functionality, and availability may change as we continue development.

3. User Responsibilities

As a user of MeeLang, you agree to:

• Use the Service in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Not use the Service to translate content that is illegal, harmful, harassing, or infringes on others' rights.
• Not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service, except as permitted by open-source components.
• Not use the Service in a way that disrupts or interferes with meeting platforms (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams, etc.) or violates their terms of service.

4. Intellectual Property

The MeeLang extension, website, logo, branding, and original code are the intellectual property of MeeLang. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.

You retain all rights to the meeting content and transcripts you create using the Service. MeeLang claims no ownership over your data.

5. Plans, Billing, and Refunds

MeeLang offers a free tier and a paid subscription. Free usage requires no payment details.

5.1 Merchant of Record

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Creem.io. Creem.io is the Merchant of Record for all orders. Creem.io handles all billing enquiries, payment processing, invoicing, and applicable taxes (VAT, GST, and sales tax). Your payment will appear on your statement under Creem.io.

5.2 Allowances

Translation is metered in minutes of active translation. Free allowances reset on the first day of each calendar month (UTC). Paid allowances reset at the start of each billing period, which begins on the date your subscription started or last renewed.

5.3 Automatic Renewal

Paid subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price, until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and you keep access to paid features until then. We will give notice before any price change takes effect.

5.4 Refunds

If the Service does not work for you, contact us within 14 days of a charge and we will refund it in full. After 14 days, charges for the current period are non-refundable except where required by law. Statutory rights of withdrawal, where they apply to you, are unaffected by this paragraph.

5.5 Failed Payments

If a renewal payment fails, paid features remain available until the end of the billing period already paid for. If payment is still not collected by then, the account returns to the free tier. No data is deleted when this happens.

6. Beta Disclaimer

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "beta" basis. While we work hard to make MeeLang reliable, during the beta period:

• The Service may contain bugs, errors, or incomplete features.
• Features may be added, modified, or removed without notice.
• Service availability is not guaranteed.
• We appreciate your feedback and bug reports — they help us improve!

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
• Translations will be accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose.
• Any errors or defects will be corrected.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MEELANG AND ITS CREATORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF BUSINESS, OR LOSS OF REVENUE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim. Since MeeLang is free during beta, this amount is zero.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless MeeLang and its creators from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

10. Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Our data practices are described in our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our discretion, without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms. You may terminate your use at any time by uninstalling the extension.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we'll update the "Last updated" date and make reasonable efforts to notify you — for example, through the extension or on our website. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which MeeLang operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
